This 1878 Morgan Silver Dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint during the first year of the Morgan dollar series. The coin features bright silver surfaces with strong remaining detail across Liberty’s portrait and the eagle reverse, along with scattered contact marks and light surface abrasions consistent with an uncirculated silver dollar.
The obverse displays George T. Morgan’s portrait of Liberty surrounded by 13 stars. The reverse features a bald eagle with outstretched wings holding arrows and an olive branch. Because this coin was struck at the Philadelphia Mint, it carries no mintmark.
