Graded About Uncirculated 58 (AU58) by PCGS, this coin displays only light circulation wear while retaining the majority of its original detail and Mint State appearance. AU58 is the highest About Uncirculated grade and offers an excellent combination of preservation, eye appeal, and value.

The 1888-S is particularly interesting because it was once considered quite scarce in Mint State. Large quantities were released from San Francisco Mint storage beginning in the 1940s, but many coins later entered circulation, leaving the issue considerably scarcer today than its mintage alone might suggest.

The obverse features Lady Liberty wearing her iconic Phrygian cap, while the reverse displays the majestic eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch. The distinctive “S” mintmark beneath the wreath identifies this coin as a product of the San Francisco Mint.

Struck in 90% silver and 10% copper, the Morgan Dollar weighs 26.73 grams and contains approximately 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver.
